1. Who these terms are with

These terms apply to services provided by Build and Fix Ltd., trading as Door N Window ("we", "us", "our"), and to your use of this website. By booking work with us you accept these terms.

2. Quotes and pricing

We usually arrange a free on-site estimate because an accurate quote depends on inspecting the damage, taking measurements and checking site conditions. Any visit fee is confirmed before booking. Information or pricing provided from a description or photograph is preliminary until we inspect the work on site. If the scope changes, we explain the change and obtain your approval of the revised price before continuing. No paid work begins without your approval of the scope and price.

Any attendance charge, including an applicable after-hours charge, is disclosed before dispatch. An attendance charge is separate from the repair quote unless expressly included.

3. Deposits and payment

Where materials have to be manufactured or ordered to size, we may ask for a deposit covering those materials before they are ordered. Payment for completed work is due on the terms stated on the invoice. Accounts that are past due may have further work suspended.

4. Access and site conditions

You are responsible for providing safe access to the work area and for telling us about anything that affects the work, including alarm systems, pets, restricted hours, or building rules such as elevator bookings and condominium approvals. Where access cannot be provided at the agreed time, a call-out charge may apply.

5. Materials ordered to size

Glass units, doors and many hardware items are made to the measurements of a specific opening and cannot be returned or resold. Once such an item has been ordered on your approval, it is chargeable in full whether or not the installation proceeds.

6. Cancellations

You can cancel or reschedule a booked appointment at no charge with reasonable notice. Cancellation after materials have been ordered to size is subject to section 5. Emergency attendance that has already been dispatched is chargeable.

7. Warranty

We provide a 1-year warranty on the labour we perform and the materials we supply. If covered work we carried out fails during that period, we will return and remedy it at no charge. The warranty does not cover new damage, impact, forced entry, vandalism, misuse, normal wear of consumable items, or work altered or interfered with by anyone else after we left. Warranty details for your specific job are stated on your invoice.

8. Insurance claims

Where we help with an insurance claim we do so as a courtesy and at no charge. We document damage and issue itemised invoicing suitable for a claim. We are not an insurance broker or adjuster, we do not act as your agent with the insurer, and we cannot influence whether a claim is approved or what an insurer will pay. You remain responsible for the invoice regardless of the outcome of any claim.

9. Liability

We are responsible for damage caused by our own negligence. We are not responsible for pre-existing defects, for consequential or indirect loss including lost business or lost revenue, or for damage arising from conditions we were not told about. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under the law of Ontario.

10. Website content

The content of this website is provided for general information. Guides and articles describe common situations and are not a substitute for inspection of your specific property. The content, branding and materials on this site belong to us and may not be reproduced without permission.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply in it.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. The version in force is the one published here at the time you book work with us.
