“Would recommend this company! Very responsive, good communication and quick to service. Knowledgeable and affordable too. Our sliding door wouldn’t lock/ there was a gap. They came out and repaired it in one visit so it’s back to brand new - back on the track and locks again.”

“Replaced my very old and annoying mortise lock set quickly and professionally. Work was done within the estimate pricing, and the technician was nice. The messed up paint in the photo is not the result of the work - just the result of a bad painter years ago.”

“Great company … excellent work repairing my door . The problem with the door was an interior bolt so a picture wouldn’t show anything .. but it was not an easy fix … all was done in a timely and skilled fashion! My building is located in Scarborough. The door was a commercial fire exit door. Repair wait time 1–2 hr”

“Responded quickly to my door problem and provided options for repair, which was done immediately. Would recommend this company.”

While you wait: practical next steps
1.Do not force the door or put fingers near hinges, latches or moving hardware. Keep away if the door or frame is unstable.
2.Keep fire exits and escape routes clear. Do not disable exit hardware or improvise a barricade across a required exit.
3.Call with your location, door type and whether the property can be secured. Describe the issue without repeatedly testing damaged hardware.
4.Photos can help us prepare, but are optional. Take them only from a safe position; do not hold or move the door to demonstrate the fault.
5.If there is danger or a suspected intruder, move to safety and contact emergency services. Follow police instructions about access without delaying urgent help.

What we do when we get there
01
Finding the real cause
We inspect the door, frame, alignment and locking system together. A similar symptom can have several causes, so we check the mechanism before recommending adjustment, repair or replacement.
02
Hinges and screws
We check hinges, pivots and fixings for wear or movement and assess the frame supporting them. Suitable adjustment or replacement depends on the door's construction and hardware requirements.
03
Strike, latch and deadbolt
Where alignment is right and the door still will not lock, the strike is repositioned or the mortise deepened so the bolt lands cleanly with no lifting or leaning. Worn latches and seized cylinders are replaced. On a steel door we test the lock body separately, because a dragging cylinder mimics a misaligned door.
04
Bent frames and forced jambs
Forced-entry damage needs an assessment of the frame, door and surrounding support. We explain whether a local repair or reinforcement is suitable, or whether damaged components need replacement.
05
Temporary securing when needed
If permanent work needs parts or another visit, we assess suitable temporary hardware or securing. We explain the condition of the entrance, any remaining restrictions and the follow-up plan.
Before and after · Original job photographs
Related entrance work, before and after
A boarded commercial opening followed by its replacement glass door. These original photographs show the same entrance, not a lock or alignment repair.
Real clips of a door jamb being trimmed around the strike-plate recess and an entrance frame being prepared. These show related on-site work, not a complete lock repair.
Why does my door only lock in summer, or only in winter?
Changes in temperature or humidity can affect clearances, but hardware wear or frame movement may also contribute. We inspect the door and locking system to identify the cause instead of assuming a seasonal adjustment will solve it.
I have to lift the handle to lock it. Is that serious?
Some multipoint locks are designed to engage when the handle is lifted. If operation has changed, takes unusual force or requires lifting the door itself, stop forcing it and arrange an assessment. The correct action depends on the specific lock and door.
The deadbolt throws but the door still rattles. Is it locked?
Movement alone cannot confirm that the door is securely locked. The bolt, strike, frame and door all need checking. If you are unsure whether the property is secure, call us rather than relying on the position of the handle or thumbturn.
Can you do this on a commercial entrance without shutting us down?
We plan work around business hours where possible and explain any access restrictions before starting. Whether the entrance can remain in use depends on the damage, available parts and safe exit arrangements. Emergency dispatch is available 24/7.
Is a door that will not close the same problem as one that will not lock?
The symptoms can be related, but they do not always have the same cause. We check the hinges, frame, door leaf and locking or closing hardware together before recommending the repair.
Do I need a new door if the frame was kicked in?
Not necessarily. We assess the door leaf, frame, support and hardware to determine whether a repair is suitable. If replacement is needed, we explain why and confirm the options and price before paid work begins.
