What we do when we get there
Assessing affected doors and windows
Tell us which openings were affected. We assess accessible glass, doors, frames and hardware, then explain the work needed. Structural, roofing, electrical or tree hazards may need a separate qualified specialist before we can proceed.
Securing the open elements
We prioritise exposed openings and assess boarding, temporary hardware or other suitable protection. Safe access, structural condition and the extent of the damage determine what can be done on the visit. We explain any remaining restrictions and follow-up work.
Doors caught by the wind
We inspect the door, hinges, pivots, closer, frame and any door stop for damage. We repair or replace suitable components and check operation. A closer's backcheck is not a substitute for a suitable door stop or a guarantee against wind damage.
Water past the frame
Water around a window can come from seals, drainage or the surrounding building. We inspect the accessible opening and explain whether sealing, hardware or glazing work is appropriate, or whether further investigation by another specialist is needed.

Frequently asked questions
The window is not broken but the room is soaked. Is that storm damage?
Water entry can have several causes, so the opening and surrounding area need assessment. Take photos only if safe and keep away from wet electrical equipment. Your insurer determines whether the damage is covered under your policy; we document the repair findings.
Do you take the tree branch out of the window?
We assess whether debris can be safely removed as part of securing the opening. Large, hanging or load-bearing branches need a qualified arborist. Anything touching a power line must be handled through the utility. Do not approach or move those hazards yourself.
Half the neighbourhood called after the same storm. Where does that leave us?
The line stays answered and we prioritise openings that are exposed over ones that are merely damaged. Being honest about it: after a wide area event, everyone in this trade is working from a queue. Tell us plainly whether your building is open to the weather or the property is unoccupied, because that is what moves you up it.
Is hail damage to a window claimable?
Coverage depends on your policy, the cause of damage, any deductible and your insurer's assessment. We provide photos and an itemised invoice separating emergency securing from permanent repairs, and help answer repair-related questions at no added charge. Ask your insurer which costs are covered; we cannot guarantee reimbursement.
Can you get everything replaced before the next storm?
We offer immediate emergency dispatch, but cannot promise completion before a weather event. After assessment, we explain temporary protection and confirm the replacement schedule based on safe access and parts or glass availability.
Should we upgrade anything while the work is being done?
We can discuss suitable glazing, weather seals and door hardware after assessing the opening. Any upgrade must suit the frame and intended use. We explain the product's limitations and price rather than promising that it will prevent future storm damage.
