That depends on the existing key system, cylinder compatibility and authorization for the property. We identify the hardware and discuss suitable rekeying or replacement options before agreeing the work. An existing key or master-key arrangement is not assumed to suit every replacement lock.
The bolt is hitting the edge of the strike hole instead of entering it cleanly, which means the door has dropped, the frame has moved, or the strike was fitted slightly off from the start. Forcing it wears the bolt and the cylinder. We reset the hinges or reposition and deepen the strike so the bolt throws fully every time.
The time depends on the existing preparation, selected hardware and condition of the door and frame. A different backset, damaged fixing points or alignment work can change the scope. We explain the expected work after assessment.
