“I live in a condo at downtown Toronto. There has been an issue with the sliding glass door to the master washroom (stuck to the floor near the end of the track). I found Build and Fix Ltd through Google search. They were very responsive and scheduled the initial onsite visit very quickly. The technician Olex showed up on time and identified the issue immediately and scheduled the actual repair in two weeks time (as it is not an urgent issue). Today he showed up as scheduled and did an excellent job fixing the sliding door. I am extremely happy with the results. Will definitely use them for future fixes and repairs.”

What affects the price?
Repairs are quoted on site once we see the enclosure and the hardware. Glass thickness and size, framed or frameless construction, hardware finish, whether panels have to be machined to order, and tile condition around the opening all affect the cost.
On-site estimate visits are free for most jobs. We confirm whether your visit is free or chargeable before booking.
The work
What’s included
01Finding the leak
We run the shower and watch where water actually escapes, since the puddle is rarely under the leak. Usual causes are a missing door sweep, a hardened jamb seal, a curb without the right slope, or failed silicone at the wall channel. Each has a different fix, and only one of them involves touching the glass.
02Seals, sweeps and silicone
We match replacement sweeps, seals and gaskets to the glass and enclosure. Failed sealant is removed and renewed where appropriate, following that enclosure's installation requirements and preserving its designed drainage paths.
03Rollers, hinges and alignment
Sliding enclosures run on rollers that wear flat and drop the door onto the track. We replace them and reset the height so the panels clear each other. Frameless doors sag when the hinge pivots wear or the wall anchors move: hinges are replaced or re-tensioned and the door is re-squared to the fixed panel.
04Glass panel replacement
Shower glass is tempered, so a chip at the corner is a real risk of the whole panel letting go. Panels are measured on site for width, height, thickness and hinge and handle cutout positions, then ordered with the holes machined, since tempered glass cannot be drilled after treatment. The old panel is removed and taken away.
05New enclosure installation
We measure the opening at several heights, because tiled walls are rarely plumb, and set the enclosure to the walls rather than assuming they are square. Wall channels are anchored into studs or backing where possible, glass is set with the correct clearances, and the enclosure is left to cure before it is used.

My shower door leaks. Does the whole enclosure need replacing?
Not necessarily. A worn sweep, damaged gasket, alignment issue or failed sealant may be repairable. We inspect the source of the leak and condition of the enclosure, then explain the suitable repair or replacement options and any parts needed.
Can chipped shower glass be repaired?
No. Shower panels are tempered, and tempering puts the glass under permanent tension, so a chip or a deep scratch at an edge is a weak point that can let the whole panel break without warning. The safe answer is replacing the panel. We measure it on site and order it with the hinge and handle cutouts machined.
How long does a new shower enclosure take to install?
The measure is one visit, and the glass is then made to those measurements, which is where most of the timeline sits. Installation itself is usually most of a day for a standard enclosure. The silicone needs to cure before the shower is used, normally around twenty-four hours, and we tell you exactly when it is ready.
Do you install frameless glass?
Yes, framed, semi-frameless and frameless. Frameless panels are thicker and heavier, so the hinges have to land on studs or solid backing behind the tile, and the walls have to be measured at several heights since a frameless panel has no frame to absorb an out-of-plumb wall. We check both before quoting.
Can you work on hotel, gym or condo bathrooms?
Yes. We handle shower doors in condo units, hotels, gyms and multi-residential buildings, and work through several units in one attendance where that suits your building. Access and elevator booking can be coordinated with property management, and each unit gets its own itemised invoice if you need it that way.
Is the work warrantied?
Yes. The parts we supply and the labour to fit them are covered by a written warranty issued with your itemised invoice. That includes the hardware, the glass panel and the seal work. If a roller, hinge or seal we fitted fails within that period, call the same number and we come back out.
