What affects the price?
Door glass is priced after the opening and glass type are identified. Size, single or sealed construction, safety glazing, decorative patterns, trim condition, access and an emergency board-up are the main cost factors.
On-site estimate visits are free for most jobs. We confirm whether your visit is free or chargeable before booking.

What’s included
Safe clearing and temporary securing
Loose glass is removed from the insert and the floor before the opening is covered. If a replacement cannot be installed immediately, we fit a secure temporary panel and record the damage before cleanup for an insurance file.
Measure and glass specification
We measure the visible opening, glass thickness and the depth held behind the frame. Door glass and sidelites often require tempered or laminated safety glass, so we match the original safety specification rather than substituting ordinary window glass.
Inserts, sidelites and divided panes
Decorative inserts can be replaced as a complete cassette, while many sidelites and French-door panes can be reglazed individually. We inspect the retaining frame and glazing stops at the same time because brittle trim can fail when the old unit comes out.
Installation, sealing and final check
The new glass is set on the correct blocks, retained evenly and sealed against weather. We then check that the door still swings, latches and locks without the added glass weight pulling it out of alignment.

Secure and measure
An exposed opening is cleared and covered first. The exact glass, safety requirement and retaining system are measured on site.
Fabricate the replacement
The glass or insert is made to the measured size. Tempered, laminated and decorative units require fabrication time, which we confirm before you approve.
Install and test
We fit and seal the replacement, clean the surrounding area and test the complete door through its full swing and lock cycle.

Can you replace the glass without replacing my door?
Usually, yes. If the slab, frame and retaining trim are sound, the glass insert or pane comes out independently and the door stays. We recommend a new door only when the slab is split, badly rusted or no longer able to hold the insert securely.
Does door glass need to be tempered?
Door and sidelite locations commonly require safety glazing. We check the original stamp and the location, then specify tempered or laminated glass where required. Ordinary annealed window glass is not substituted into a safety-critical opening.
Can a fogged decorative insert be repaired?
The door can normally stay, but the failed sealed glass unit cannot be resealed in place. Moisture between the panes means the perimeter seal has failed, so the correct repair is a replacement unit made to the same dimensions.
What happens if the decorative trim is cracked?
We inspect it before removing the unit. Some insert frames are reusable; brittle, warped or broken ones need a matching replacement frame or a complete cassette. That is identified in the quote so it is not added after the glass arrives.
Can you secure broken door glass at night?
Call day or night to confirm emergency availability. We remove loose fragments and secure the opening on the first visit, then measure for the permanent safety glass and return once it has been fabricated.
